We currently have three Fellowship Groups in operation - one in Westlake and the other on the eastern edge of Cleveland.  The Westlake group meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month from 7:00 - 8:00 am.  It is h
osted by Rick Chelko of Chelko Consulting Group at his firm’s offices:  The Chelko Consulting Group LLC, The Carnegie Center, 27500 Detroit Rd. Suite 201, Westlake, 44145 (440) 892-2600.

The format for each session generally consists of viewing a 20 minute video on the applicable topic and then discussing what we’ve heard and its applicability to our businesses.  The content is all Scripture-based.

The group currently is following a Strategic Faith Planning series led by speaker Bruce Cook.  Using Gideon's call in Judges 6 and 7, Bruce outlines the steps a Christian Business leader should take in planning for the future.  he also shows "Why Good Plans Fail" and why man's time honored methods of planning and management may actually be barriers to achieving God's results.

The East Side group meets on at 6:45 am on Monday mornings and is hosted by Bill Ryan.  The address is 26650 Renaissance Parkway Suite #7 and Bill's phone number is 216-292-1587.

The Southwest group meets 7:00 to 8:00 am the 2nd and 4th Wednesday morning of each month at Zion Industries and is hosted by Bobby Puls.

Upcoming Events

Following on the heals of a great dinner with Bill Newton, the Christian Business Owners Fellowship are excited to announce their third dinner meeting.

The Christian Business Owners Fellowship (CBOF) Ministry will hold a dinner on Thursday evening, January 21, from 6:15 to 8:30 pm at the DoubleTree Hotel in Independence featuring Dr. Gerald S. Mills as the keynote speaker.  Dr. Mills, a resident of Oberlin, graduated from The Ohio State University at age 20.  He holds a Bachelors, Masters and Doctorate from Princeton Theological Seminary.  His pastorates include: Sr. Pastor of the 2800+ member Tower Hill Presbyterian Church in Red Bank, NJ and organizing Providence Presbyterian Church on Hilton Head Island, SC.  Dr. Mills taught in Princeton Seminary's Continuing Education Program for 10 years.  He is a Jew who believes in Jesus.

We are also pleased to announce that on September 9, 2010, CBOF will host John Beckett as its speaker.  John recently authored Mastering Monday: A guide to Integrating Faith and Work.  This is the successor book to his Loving Monday: Succeeding in Business Without Selling Your Soul. In Mastering Monday, John shows the dynamic presence of God at work in our work by sharing real-life examples from his own 40-year success story, as well as lessons demonstrated by seven biblical characters who serve as role models for dealing with workplace issues. John graduated from MIT in 1960, and assumed the role of President at Beckett Corporation after the sudden and untimely death of his father, who founded the company in 1937. John's oldest son took over as President and CEO in 2003, but John remains active in the company as its Chairman.
